Spurs have long had Argentinian connections: from Ricky Villa weaving in and out of the Man City defence in the ‘81 Cup final, to Maradona’s appearance at Ossie Ardiles’ testimonial. El Pibe d’Oro looked every inch the Spurs player in his Hummel ‘86 shirt, Holsten beer emblazoned across the front. Move forward 30 years and Argentinian club Quilmes took the same shirt as inspiration for their kit. And what could be more poetic than the shirt once again being emblazoned with a beer company - Quilmes. We tried and tried to acquiesce one of these Quilmes shirts following a month-long trip taking in Argentina but they are near impossible to come by. So we made our own Spurs x Quilmes mash up. Celebrating all those links between the clubs, countries, shirt design and beer.

The front of the shirt has the Quilmes club nickname the Brewers, El Cervecero. The Spurs cockerel stands on the Quilmes Q. And everything is tied together with the iconic Spurs ‘86 Hummel template. All the black elements of the shirt (Hummel logo and chevrons, El Cervecero sponsor, shirt crest) are pressed silicone which really pop.
